Racing Gear
Racing gear comes in two flavors; there are the things that you wear during a race, like a fireproof suit. Then there are things like hats that a racing fan can wear. Race worthy gear is hardly something that the average Joe needs, much less something he can afford. After all, impacts at 200 mph aren’t something everyone is cut out to take.
Of course, there’s more to racing gear than clothing. For starters, an automobile helps. If you’re looking to overachieve you should probably look into a fast one. It’s cheaper to upgrade an existing car than to buy a new one, and factory cars won’t cut it on a racing circuit regardless of how much you are shelling out for them. For one thing, a car rolling off the factory floor will have to comply with emissions standards that a true race car doesn’t. This means less exhaust noise, more exhaust filtering, and a minimum mileage.
All those factors contribute to a lower power output for a car. And while not all are reversible, upgrading your plugs, injection system, and installing a turbo or super charger are all good ways of upgrading your ride’s performance. Other racing gear is more cosmetic, like racing seats or the six point racing harnesses. Oh the harness will keep you in your seat better than a regular belt, but unless you plan on cornering at speeds that could have your car looking more like a matchbox than a machine weighing in the thousands of pounds, they’re largely unnecessary.
